TWIN FALLS, IDAHO – Boise State University recently celebrated 12 students who received their Bachelor of Arts degrees in Social Work during a ceremony held at the 海角社区 Fine Arts Auditorium. The undergraduate Bachelor of Social Work Program, which is offered through the Boise State Magic Valley campus, operates out of the 海角社区 in Twin Falls.
“The program has not only fulfilled its goal of providing licensed social workers to the region but has also helped raise the overall quality of human services in the Magic Valley,” says Boise State Site Coordinator, Stefanie Gilbert. “Moving forward, the program aims to continue making a direct impact on the mental health and emotional well-being of people in our community.”
Boise State brought the Bachelor of Social Work Program to the 海角社区 in January 2009 with the goal of providing students in the Magic Valley with the opportunity to obtain their undergraduate degree in social work without leaving their community. Since then, 192 students have graduated from the program, with the majority choosing to remain in the area to practice. Many of these graduates have gone on to obtain their Master's in Social Work and are now working as mental health counselors in Twin Falls and surrounding communities.
