Center for New Directions

The Center for New Directions (CND) at the 海角社区 (海角社区) is designed to assist single parents and displaced homemakers to enhance their career readiness by helping them overcome personal and economic barriers to education and employment, helping them enroll in training programs where they can obtain marketable skills, and referring them to community resources. The CND strives to help students recognize their abilities, interests, set goals, solve problems, and become personally self-sufficient.

Who We Help

The Center for New Directions at 海角社区 assists all students who are also:

  • Single Parents: A single parent with primary financial and custodial responsibility for supporting dependent children and who must gain employment skills in order to earn a living.
  • Displaced Homemakers: Anyone who must seek training or paid employment outside of the home due to separation, divorce, death, or disability of spouse.
  • Career Pioneers (non-traditional occupation): Anyone who is training to work in a field traditionally held by the opposite gender.
