See the full 海角社区 licensure disclosure statement

Graduates of the Surgical Technology program at the 海角社区 will be eligible for national certification testing. Graduates of this program will sit together as a cohort to take the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) exam during the last week of the program in July. (The exam is schedule by the Program Director.)

The NBSTSA's certification program is accredited by:

  • The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA)
  • The Accreditation Division of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE)
  • In compliance with the NCCA's Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs

The NBSTSA states:

"Certified individuals possess mastery of a broad range of skills related to surgical procedures, aseptic technique and patient care"... "Certification is a means for upward mobility, a condition for employment, a route to higher pay, and a source of recognition nationwide. Approved candidates who take and pass the CST examination are authorized to use the initials CST as long as they maintain certification currency."
